Nadal wins Barcelona Open

RAFAEL NADAL continued his dominance on his favorite surface, beating compatriot David Ferrer, 6-2, 6-4, in the Barcelona Open final on Sunday.

The title was Nadal’s sixth straight in the tournament, 31^st on clay and 45^th overall in the ATP Tour.

Nadal also beat Ferrer in the Monte Carlo final in straight sets last April 17. It was his 10^th straight win over Ferrer on clay since losing to him in 2004.

The 24-year-old from Mallorca, Spain became the first player to win two tournaments six or more times in the Open era. He has won Monte Carlo seven straight times.
